Meet Mrs. Colwell
Hello and welcome to 3C! I am ecstatic to be your third grade teacher this school year!
My name is Lacey Colwell and I am originally from Abingdon, Illinois. I graduated from Illinois State University in December of 2009 with my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. Immediately after graduating, I began work as a Title I reading and math teacher with Galesburg District #205. I then remained at the same school where I taught 3rd grade for five years. I loved my position there and was hesitant to leave, but my husband and I moved to the Dunlap area to be closer to his career.
As I start my third year with the district, I can honestly say that I not only made the best choice for my family but also my career because Wilder-Waite is home to me. In December of 2015, I completed my Master's degree in Reading! I still take courses to continue my professional development throughout the school year. When I am not teaching or working on school related projects, I enjoy reading on my Ipad, making crafts and recipes from Pinterest, spending time with my family, and being outside.
The most exciting thing for me right now is my young daughter Claire! She was born in January of 2017, and I'm sure you will all get to know a lot about her and my fur baby Rudy throughout the school year.
If you ever have any questions or concerns about your child's school year with me, please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected]
